Editor's note: In the Gengzi New Year, a war without arms started nationwide. At a time when families should be reunited, a group of OUC students mobilised to help Wuhan and rescue patients there!

The white-robed angels whose deeds have moved people all over the country say: "We are called "warriors", but have chosen this profession, and it is our duty to help fight the epidemic! We shall dedicate ourselves to the interests of the country over our personal interests".

Why are so many taking part in this struggle? Let's pay tribute to them, and tell their stories.

To help control the coronavirus epidemic, on 4 February, 2020, three highly qualified nurses from the Zhongwei Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of the Zhongwei campus of the Ningxia Bbranch left their families to travel to Wuhan.

Qiao Ying enrolled as a Nursing undergraduate there in 2009, and was given an award in recognition of her accomplishments in traditional Chinese medicine in 2018. She had started work in 1999, and was elevated to head nurse in 2010. She is familiar with the treatment of common diseases in a variety of departments, especially the pulmonary-diseases ward.

Mo Jing, a Nursing major at the Zhongwei campus of the Ningxia Branch, was admitted in the autumn of 2016. She has been the head nurse in the Department of Spleen and Gastroenterology at the Zhongwei Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital since 2013, after having started work in 2001, and was given an award for her skills in 2019. She is familiar with the nursing practices for the common diseases of each hospital department.

Ni Xiaoqing was admitted as a Nursing undergraduate to the Zhongwei campus of the Ningxia Branch in the spring of 2015. She had started work in 2011, and was named an Advanced Worker in 2019. Her area of specialisation is pulmonary care.

They are all children and mothers, and have a great deal at stake. Nonetheless, they believe their responsibilities trump all other concerns, and when called upon they stepped resolutely into battle.

They have been fighting the invisible enemy side-by-side like white angels, giving others hope and remaining calm while death surrounds them.
