On the morning of November 22, 2015, heavy snow fell in Beijing. The whole city was blanketed in snow, with only a few pedestrians and vehicles on the road. However, the heavy snow did not dampen the enthusiasm of Beijing Experimental School.

The service personnel of Beijing Experimental School prepared an anti-slip carpet and swept the snow. The tutors in charge of student affairs came to school early. They prepared the teaching facilities and turned on the air conditioning, and prepared hot water for the teachers and students. The teachers set off early to make sure they were on time for class. The students wore thick down coats and heavy snow boots. Why did the bad weather not hold them back? What drove them to come to class in spite of the heavy snow?

Liu Guirong (a student in the Class of 2014 majoring in Administrative Management) said, “I come to class on time in spite of the wind and rain. I want to set a good example for my own child and the younger classmates." Following her exemplary behavior, a good learning atmosphere has been created in her class.

Zhao Juqiang was worried that her students would not come to class due to the bad weather, but she was surprised to see students coming into the classroom in groups. She praised them for their persistence. Niu Taining and Sun Liang (students in the Class of 2014 majoring in Administrative Management) said that the snow is not a big deal and that they known they must come to class on time. Their words expressed their thirst for knowledge.

The number of students majoring in Architecture is relatively small, and most of them live far away from school, but they did not give up in the face of the bad weather. "As long as I do not work overtime at the weekend, I will come to school whatever the weather," Cheng Zhaohuang, a student in the Class of 2014 majoring in Architecture, said. Another student, Zhang Pengjie, arrived a little bit late due to his long commute, but after class he stayed to discuss the homework assigned by the teachers.

Jiang Zesheng is a retired teacher, but he is still full of enthusiasm. He was the first to arrive, and prepared his lecture in advance. He said that,"teachers can wait for students, but we should not let students wait for their teachers. This is one of the basic qualities of being a teacher." During his tenure at Beijing Experimental School, Mr. Jiang has always set a good example, and is popular with the students.

Dean of Beijing Experimental School Guo Qingchun said, "We are deeply moved that every teacher and student made it to school in this bad weather. It would be easy for them to find a reason not to come to class, choosing to rest at home, stay with their families, or enjoy the snow with friends. I believe that their persistence and spirit in overcoming these difficulties will accumulate more wealth for teachers and students in their future study, life, and work."
