The participants agreed that the report delivered at the 20th National Congress of the CPC underwrites the growth of the Party and the country for at least the next five years, aiming to build a modern socialist country on the basis of a contemporary Chinese version of Marxism. They asserted that China is meeting historically unprecedented change with equally radical innovation. We should make in-depth studies and systematic summaries of rich experience of practical innovation in the construction of Chinese modernisation with Marxist concept, upgrade the experience to a new rational height, form understandings of the laws, and further enrich and develop Marxist theories. The success of this forum will play a significantly positive role in making an in-depth study and research of the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, deepening the theoretical research of contemporary Chinese Marxism, and promoting the construction of the discipline of Marxist theories.

The establishment of the Research Institute of Contemporary Chinese Marxism of the Open University of China was announced at the forum. The institute is committed to theoretical research into contemporary Chinese Marxism, aiming to expand ideological and political teaching, promote the construction of Marxism as a discipline, and influence policy, educational reforms, and training.
