On October 15th, 2012, the Second National Foundry Industry Education and Training Work Conference organized by the China Foundry Association was held at the Heilongjiang Institute of Science and Technology. Mr. Li Linshu, vice president of the OUC, attended the conference and signed the Cooperation Intention Between The OUC

and The China Foundry Association with Mr. Zhang Libo, executive vice chairman of the China Foundry Association. They also reached a consensus about jointly establishing the OUC Foundry School.

As outlined in the above mentioned document, the two sides will further cooperate in the following areas: First, “Professional Foundry Worker Proficiency Credentials” and “Casting Engineer Certification” issued by the China Foundry Association will be introduced to the OUC so that their learning outcomes can be recognized and transferred via the OUC credit bank system, thus bridging the degree education and non-degree education; Second, the China Foundry Association will take part in the “Research and Practice for Accreditation, Accumulation, and Transfer System of Learning Outcomes of the National Continuing Education” programme, undertaken by the OUC, and the two sides will jointly undertake related research; Third, the China Foundry Association will make the best use of its experts and high quality teaching resources via the teaching network and public-service platform provided by the OUC. In this way, high quality teaching resources can be shared by more people and various education and training services can be provided for employees in  enterprises and companies; Fourth, the OUC can guarantee high-quality practice-based teaching using experimental, practical, and training facilities provided by the China Foundry Association; Fifth, the two sides will jointly explore new methods and operating mechanism to cultivate applied and technical personnel and improve the overall quality of foundary workers.

The China Foundry Association was established in 1986. Foundries, local foundry associations, design and research institutes, universities, and colleges all across China have made their own contribution to the establishment of the China Foundry Association. Registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, it is the only national first-grade foundry organization under the management of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.
