Recently, the Lifelong Education Research Institute of the Open University of China (OUC) launched the "Lectures by Famous Teachers from 100 Universities" initiative.
The event invited professor Chen Li from Beijing Normal University and professor Zhu Zhiting from East China Normal University to provide consultation and guidance on the institute's research work.
In recent years, the Lifelong Education Research Institute has been committed to integrating teaching and research. Especially this year, it has undertaken key projects such as the research on open education services for the construction of a learning society and the development of core competency standards for open education students. Around these key research projects, the institute's faculty engaged in thorough discussions with professors Chen Li and Zhu Zhiting. The two experts also provided guidance on the institute's work related to the development of disciplines in lifelong education.

Chen Li: Renowned scholar at Beijing Normal University, professor and doctoral advisor at the Faculty of Education, Beijing Normal University. She serves as the director of the Research Centre of Distance Education and the director of the Interactive Media and Distance Learning Laboratory at Beijing Normal University. Additionally, she is the chair of the Technical Committee of the National Engineering Laboratory for Cyberlearning and Intelligent Technology. Since 1991, she has been engaged in teaching and research in the field of distance education and is one of the founders and leading scholars in this field. Her main research areas include the theory of instructional interaction in distance learning, lifelong education, and the construction of a learning society. She actively participates in research on "Internet + Education," exploring the impact of the internet on the transformation of educational, management, and supply structures, and is committed to promoting educational system innovation.
Zhu Zhiting: A lifelong professor and doctoral supervisor in educational technology at East China Normal University. He is one of the pioneers in the theoretical and practical research on educational informatisation in China. He holds several positions, including chair of the Ministry of Education's China E-Learning Technology Standardisation Committee and an expert member of the China National Information Technology Standardisation Committee. Zhu Zhiting has not only achieved outstanding accomplishments in academic research but also actively participates in educational practice, promoting the development of educational informatisation and smart education.
