In order to implement the guiding principles of the National Conference on Education, build a high-level teaching team for the new era, and support the construction of digital universities, recently, the Department of Student Affairs and Teacher Development of the Open University of China (OUC), in collaboration with its Engineering Research Centre for Technology Integration and Application of E-Learning, Ministry of Education, has held a workshop for enhancing teachers’ digital design capabilities.

Fan Xianrui, a member of the Party Committee and vice president of the OUC, attended the opening ceremony.

Fan Xianrui pointed out that this workshop constitutes an important part of the OUC's efforts to promote the construction of digital universities, aiming to enhance the digital thinking and skills of teachers and administrators through training. She raised three expectations for the participants: First, jointly enhance digital awareness and theoretic learning, improve their own digital literacy, and develop a digital concept that keeps pace with the times; Second, jointly enhance hands-on design capabilities to ensure that the learned knowledge can be put into practice; Third, focus on professional activities, be empowered by digital means, and apply what has been learned to design digital solutions that meet practical needs. She hoped that by the end of the workshop, she could witness the excellent results brought by each participant.

This training adopts the flipped classroom teaching model, providing a variety of tool templates for strategic interpretation and business design, and explains structured analysis methods in a way that is easy to understand. It helps teachers and administrators to better understand the school's strategies, and to carry out digital business, digital operations, and path planning and design.

More than 60 faculty and staff members from the headquarters' relevant departments and the open universities in Jiangsu, Hunan, and Hubei, participated in the event.
