From 8-10 June, the Administrative Management of the Open University of China’s (OUC) main central teaching and research group held its 2023 annual teaching seminar in Zunyi, Guizhou Province. Personnel attending the event included Gu Xiaohua, director of the OUC Academic Affairs Department and deputy head of the central teaching and research group’s third Administrative Management major.

In addition, Zhao Yong, director of the Department of Career Development at Guizhou Open University, also attended, along with Hu Dali, president of the Zunyi Radio and TV University. The seminar was presided over by Zhao Junqiang, head of the central teaching research group’s third Administrative Management major. The seminar focused on the work routine and dissertation element of the Administrative Management major, as well as the ongoing digital transformation of the programme.

Zhao introduced the members of the central group and outlined their tasks. She emphasized that members of the central group should perform their duties to a high standard and deeply engage in the development and teaching reforms of the Administrative Management major. She also urged them to take positive steps to solve any challenges that arise while developing the major and programme of teaching, giving full play to their roles and jointly contributing to the its development.

Gu gave a lecture titled “Pathway of High-Quality Development for the Administrative Management major at OUC” in which he explained his views on the OUC’s recently published “Creating Excellence and Improving Quality” strategy. He also elaborated on the pathway for the continued high-quality development of the Administrative Management major.

Members of the central group also held discussions and exchanged ideas on the developmental objectives of learners for the Administrative Management undergraduate and junior-college programmes. They discussed approaches to learner development, the implementation of teaching, the development of resources, digital empowerment and problems in dissertation writing, among other topics.

The event was able to clarify the future direction and next steps of the Administrative Management major in terms of its digital development, and gave a boost to the continued high-quality development of the major.
