On 2 September 2014, a teacher discussion and training meeting for the autumn semester of 2014 was held in Beijing Experimental School. The meeting summarized the implementation of teaching strategies from the spring semester of 2014, and outlined teaching objectives for the autumn semester of 2014 and current state of progress. Tutors, teaching staff, and tutoring directors of Beijing Experimental School attended the meeting.

 

 

The meeting summarized the implementation of teaching strategies from the spring semester of 2014. During the spring semester of 2014, the School launched the school running system known as “Experimental School-Learning Centre-Learning Site”, opened four undergraduate majors and six college majors. 554 students and 53 tutors were employed. A total of 3,504 class hours of face-to-face tutorials were completed, and effective exploration was carried out, especially in such fields as teaching team construction for online courses, online teaching supervising system, simulcasting video lessons with two-way communication litnking three separate locations, sending teaching to learning sites, trial reform of complete Internet education, and an examination appointment system.

President of Beijing Experimental School Han Yi assigned the teaching work for the autumn semester of 2014. She said that, facing function adjustment and a changing school management situation, Beijing Experimental School would take concerted action in line with the OUC’s teaching reform of “six websites connection” during the autumn semester of 2014, continuously pushing forward research in existing teaching reform projects, while at the same time enthusiastically launching exploration into the small-class teaching model for smaller majors, as well as initial trials in learning websites, optional courses assessment reform, online teaching reform, teaching support services reform of learning sites, and so on.

The attending teachers discussed problems such as how to adjust teaching measures to realize the goal of learner formation with multiple teaching methods in harmony with the School’s function adjustment, market needs, and the learners’ actual situations. Aiming at such important and difficult problems such as online teaching, sending teaching to learning sites, interconnection and sharing of the small classes of small majors, and opening courses, suggestions and thoughts were put forward. The meeting also shared experiences and  knowledge gained from online teaching “Financial Market”, and carried out training in operation methods and teaching strategies for the OUC's learning network for newly-employed tutors for the autumn semester of 2014.
