Recently, the OUC's electromechanical teaching workshop was convened in Tai’an, Shandong Province. Chen Ji, Vice President of Shandong RTVU, and Yuan Wei, Deputy Director of the School of Engineering of the OUC, together with more than 60 administrative employees and distinguished teachers from the electromechanical programme of the OUC’s branches and subsidiary learning centres attended the workshop.

 

The workshop pointed out the development of teaching reform of the engineering programme, including the situation of the teachers in the engineering school, enrollment in each discipline, thinking on teaching reform, and key points in engineering teaching reform. It put forward seven measures for teaching reform, including: curriculum system hierarchy, Internet based teaching content, mobile curriculum resources, diversified evaluation methods, building of the teaching team, cooperation in construction of the programme, and systematic practice training. The workshop introduced the current situation of mechanical engineering and put forward the thinking and methods for the teaching reform of this programme from six angles, including: curriculum platform, learning resources, practice courses, learning assessment, teaching team, and school management cooperation. The workshop also reported the latest developments and plans of the Assistance Plan for the Growth and Development of the New Type Industrial Workers

Teachers from seven branches from Tianjin, Henan, Ningxia, etc introduced their experience in the construction of high quality learning resources and practice courses. The representatives who attended the workshop discussed new developments in electromechanical curriculum construction and exchanged views on the current situation of the mechanical engineering programme in different places and the use of the teaching text, Electrical and Electronic Technology (Second Edition).
