Recently, the accessibility service training for the 15th National Games and the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities & the 9th National Special Olympic Games, hosted by the Shenzhen Municipal Disabled Persons’ Federation, was organised by the Shenzhen Accessibility Promotion Association, and co-organised by Shenzhen Open University (Shenzhen OU).
CHEN Lei, Deputy Director of the Accessible City Development Office of the Shenzhen Municipal Disabled Persons’ Federation, and TANG Weizhi, Vice President of Shenzhen OU, were present at the Opening Ceremony.
The training programme, scheduled from April to June, will cover 178 key venues in Shenzhen, including competition venues, commercial districts, hotels, tourist attractions, and public transportation hubs. The curriculum encompasses disability and accessibility awareness, service techniques for individuals with physical, visual, and hearing impairments, as well as sign language instruction, with an estimated participation of 900 trainees. Dean of the School for the Disabled, faculty representatives, and over 100 trainees attended the training programme.
