To enhance teaching skills, help its teachers grow, and select participants for the Teaching-skills Competition of the Open University of China (OUC), the OUC Faculty of Science and Engineering held an activity for teachers to discuss teaching and showcase their teaching skills on 6 April 2021. All teachers in the faculty attended.

In the showcase section, Tian Xiao and Wang Jiao, two faculty members, demonstrated beautifully designed courseware, natural postures and manners, and fluent communication.

After the showcase, everyone gave them constructive and positive feedback in terms of content, strategy, communication on the most important and/or difficult points, and teaching methods, styles and effects.

Teacher training is the core of teaching reform, and essential to the development of high-quality teaching at the OUC. The faculty aims to use the competition as an opportunity to cultivate this, and, by using the best teachers as models, promote commitment to and passion for teaching.
