From 5-6 June 2019, the Law sub-committee of the Second OUC Academic Committee held its first plenary meeting in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia.

The purpose of the meeting is to strengthen the construction of the law sub-committee and advance the development of the Open University of China’s (OUC) Law major. The meeting was hosted by Hu Xiaoyu, secretary of the Law sub-committee of the OUC Academic Committee and attended by Wang Ying, member of the Law sub-committee and dean of the OUC Education Research Institute, and Gu Xiaohua, deputy director of the OUC Faculty of Political Science and Law. Relevant teachers from the OUC Faculty of Political Science and Law and the Inner Mongolia branch sat in on the meeting.


On the morning of 5 June, Li Jianjun, vice president of the Inner Mongolia branch, attended the meeting and delivered a welcome speech. Wang Ying and Gu Xiaohua gave special reports titled The Research Development of Open University Teachers and Improving the Quality of Learner Development in Open Education by Enhancing the Quality of Degree Papers to members of the Law sub-committee and relevant teachers from the Inner Mongolia branch.

On the afternoon of 5 June and the morning of 6 June, members of the Law sub-committee held exchanges about the progress made in their branches around the OUC Key Work Points for 2019. In-depth and detailed exchanges and discussions were held on the themes of key Law major construction, online teaching team construction, preparation for the establishment of a Law research centre, and precautions against and treatment of academic misconduct, on which they reached a consensus and created a work plan. In addition, the members worked together to discuss and improve future work planning for the Law sub-committee.

The meeting demonstrates the leading roles of the academic members of the law sub-committee whose positive participation in the meeting and advice for the construction of the Law subject and major will push forward the construction of the Law major, academic development, and teaching team building.
