According to Shenzhen News Network, a pre-service training class for kindergarten teachers (nurses) was held recently at Heping County Vocational Technology School. Thirty poverty-stricken trainees from Heping County will be offered employment in Shenzhen as long as they complete the training, thus achieving the goal that “employment for one person helps the whole family out of poverty”.
The opening ceremony was attended by Huang Zhongwei, vice chairman of Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and the National Association of Vocational Education of China (Shenzhen); Liu Yin, president and secretary of the Party Committee of Shenzhen Radio and TV University (Shenzhen RTVU); Zhu Renen, director of Heping County People’s Congress Standing Committee; Ye Zhiliang, vice secretary of Heping County Committee; Ye Hanhui, member of the Standing Committee of Heping County Party Committee and leader of the Futian project team stationed in Heping county.
At the ceremony, Huang Zhongwei pointed out that the aiding unit and its cadres should have an in-depth understanding of the meaning of targeted poverty alleviation. They should have a strong sense of responsibility and strive to implement specific aid work. The relevant sections in the locations of both the aiding unit and the aided unit should strengthen communication and collaborate with each other to continuously improve the preciseness, effectiveness, and sustainability of poverty-alleviation work.
The pre-service training class for kindergarten teachers was jointly implemented by the National Association of Vocational Education (Shenzhen) and Shenzhen RTVU. It will provide a 15-day free training programme for thirty poverty-stricken trainees in Heping County.
One of the trainees said that, “This training has introduced me to preschool education, which I think is a valuable opportunity. I can learn more about preschool education, which will be very helpful for both me and my family.”
Liu Yin explained that the trainees will be offered work opportunities in kindergartens in Shenzhen as soon as possible. An education level enhancement project will also be offered to them. After that, they will be able to choose their career orientation through various channels. Overall, this is a key poverty alleviation project for Shenzhen RTVU in Heping County.
