OUC Signs a Strategic-Cooperation Agreement with the China Chain-Store & Franchise Association
On 28 May 2018, the signing of a strategic-cooperation agreement between the Open University of China (OUC) and the China Chain-Store & Franchise Association (CCFA) was held at the OUC. The agreement initiates the cooperation of the organisations in the construction of a learning-oriented society and industry , the exploration of new approaches to skills development, and specifically the enhancement of skills education in the chain-store & franchise industry.
Finals of the 1st OUC English Speaking Contest Conclude in Beijing
Finals of the 1st OUC English Speaking Contest was held on June 22, 2018 in Beijing. After a fierce competition, two first-prize winners, four second-prize winners, six third-prize winners were selected from among English majors, and four first-prize winners, eight second-prize winners, 14 third-prize winners from among non-English majors; 10 speeches were named "most popular"; and 15 branches were recognised for organisational excellence.
OUC Holds Bachelor's Degree Awarding Ceremony for Non-Commissioned Officers
On 26th July 2018, a bachelor's degree awarding ceremony for the first group of graduates was held at Bayi School of the Open University of China (OUC). Thirteen undergraduate representatives from different places and different arms of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) gathered in Beijing to attend the degree awarding ceremony. Dressed in their graduation gowns, the graduates went to the podium and accepted the Tassel Turning Ceremony from Mr. Liu Chen, vice president of the OUC.
Tongliao Signs Cooperation Agreement with the OUC and Inner Mongolia RTVU
On 7th Aug. 2018, Tongliao signed a cooperation agreement with the OUC and the Inner Mongolia RTVU on a capability-enhancement plan for one thousand cadres in Gacha Village, Sumu Town. According to the agreement, the plan is to be carried out through the Tongliao Vocational College. From 2018 to 2020, the OUC and the Inner Mongolia RTVU will offer financial assistance to 1,000 cadres from Gacha Village, Sumu Town to receive academic continuing education at the OUC, as well as 2,000 grassroots cadres and farmers to receive vocational-skills training. Tuition will be free for low-income people wishing to study.
OUC and OUT Establish Joint Learning Centre
From 25-30th July 2018, a five-person delegation led by Yang Zhijian, president of the OUC Party Committee, visited the OUT and attended the opening ceremony of the Joint Learning Centre established by the OUC and the OUT. They also signed an agreement on the joint construction of the learning centre and carried out an investigation into the operation of the JLC, which has continuously promoted comprehensive cooperation between the two universities.
OUC Named MOE "Demonstration Case for Online Course Construction and Application"
The Ministry of Education (MOE) Research Centre for Online Education recently released the results of its selection of 2018 “Demonstration Cases for Online Course Construction and Application.” Online Course Construction and Application from the Perspective of the Integration of Education and Technology: A Practical Exploration of the OUC Network Learning Course compiled by Learning Resources Department of the Open University of China (OUC) was selected as one of the cases.
