In order to improve the development of the Management Science major and strengthen the construction of the Management Science Sub-Committee, the second session of the Management Science Sub-Committee of the OUC Academic Committee convened in Guiyang from 14-15th June 2018.

Yang Xiaotang, deputy secretary of the CPC of the OUC and chairman of the OUC Academic Committee; Li Jiang, vice-president of the Guangdong Branch and director of the Management Science Sub-Committee; Liu Zhimin, deputy director of the Management Science Sub-Committee; Sun Liqing, educational inspector of the Qingdao Branch and deputy director of the Management Science Sub-Committee; Guo Xiaoxia, committee member of the Management Science Sub-Committee and department director of the School of Agroforestry and Medicine; Gu Xiaohua, deputy director of the Faculty of Arts and Law; Zhang Xia, deputy director of the Faculty of Education; and leaders from other related majors attended the conference, which was hosted by Sun Liqing. Li Qin, vice president of Guizhou RTVU and committee member of Management Science Sub-Committee, made a speech.


Yang Xiaotang pointed out that the academic committee should play an important role in school development, academic research, and teaching research, and function as a decision-maker and adviser. Li Jiang indicated that the academic committee should promote the mutual development of all disciplines throughout the system and it should attach importance to discipline development in order to improve the level of the disciplines of open education. Liu Zhimin, Guo Xiaoxia, Gu Xiaohua, and Zhang Xia all introduced different aspects of the construction and reform of the economic management, health management, administrative management, and education management majors.


Committee members discussed multiple topics, including the development of the management science discipline, the orientation of the academic board, postgraduate education, and the working plan for the year. They believe that the academic board should focus on discipline development, study a teaching model for the management major that is adapted to open education, give full play to its role in the application of disciplinary study, the application of innovative achievements, the selection of leaders of the major, and the reform of the major.
