WANG Yucheng, a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC), was admitted to the Law programme at Anji College, Zhejiang Open University in 2008.

He currently serves as a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) and as a Standing Committee member of Tianhuangping Town, Anji County, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province. He holds the position of a third-class Principal Staff Member and is the Party Branch Secretary and Director of Yucun Village Committee.

In July 2022, Yucun Village launched the "Global Partner" recruitment programme, targeting research-oriented education, rural tourism and cultural innovation sectors while issuing an international call to co-create a model future village. Early 2023 saw Anji County proposed the "Greater Yucun" concept, establishing a development cluster comprising 24 administrative villages across three townships (Tianhuangping, Shangshu and Shanchuan) with Yucun at its core.

Within two years, this initiative has attracted over 60 partners/projects and recruited more than 1,000 university graduates. During his inaugural appearance at the 2023 Two Sessions "Deputy Passage", first-term NPC deputy WANG captivated domestic and foreign media with the story of how this northern Zhejiang village leverages youth potential for rural revitalisation, notably through the "Global Partners" programme.

Supported by a series of policies, Yucun has now established specialised youth entrepreneurship spaces, launched the "Global Youth Development Academy", and incubated over 20 innovative ventures including cafes and pubs, substantially boosting villagers' incomes. For this year's Third Plenary Session of the 14th NPC, WANG proposes establishing a National Prosperity Alliance of Model Villages to facilitate cross-promotion, customer-sharing and specialty product exchanges among member villages.

He advocates comprehensive rural revitalisation through multi-pronged strategies: encouraging business-experienced, highly-educated youth to pursue rural careers, and ensuring land/funding allocations and other support for quality youth-led projects in countryside areas.
