Ye Zhihong graduated from the Law School of Jilin University in 1984. He is currently a member of the National Judicial Vocational-education Teaching-steering Committee of China’s Ministry of Justice; a director of the China Law-education Research Association and a standing director of the China Association of Social Workers; a member of the Degree Committee affiliated to the Law Evaluation Committee of the Open University of China (OUC) and chief legal adviser, director of the Department of Academic Affairs, director of the Degree Office, and director of the Admissions Office at the OUC. He is also leader for Intellectual Property Law, Civil Law, Marriage and Family Law, and other courses.

His principal works include: Famous International Codes and Reviews (CCRTVU Press), China's Litigation System and its Reform (People's Public Security University of China Press), Constitutional Law (CCRTVU Press), Civil Law (CCRTVU Press) Contract Law (Anhui Renmin Press) and Civil Law Learner Guidance (CUPSL Press). He has also served as editor-in-chief for Intensive Analysis of Patent, Trademark and Copyright Law (CUPSL Press). His academic publications include A Brief Discussion of the Acquisitive Prescription in Law and Practices and Research on Civil Liability for Environmental Pollution in the Academic Journal of PPSUC.
