Wang Liming graduated from the Law Department of the Hubei University of Finance and Economics (Zhongnan University of Economics and Law). He is currently vice president of Renmin University of China and dean of its Law school.

He was the first Doctor of Civil Law in new China, a deputy to the 10th National People's Congress, and a member of the Legal Committee of the Congress. He was named one of China's Top 10 Outstanding Young Jurists and Top Ten Participants in Rule of Law in 1997.
Over the years, he has participated in drafting and revising important laws such as the Economic-contract, Contract, Patent, Product-quality, and Property laws. He was one of the main participants in drafting and formulating the latter, and a witness to and promoter of the legislative process in China.
Professor Wang Liming has been teaching Civil Law at CCRTVU since 1990, serving as chief editor and lecturer there.
