Professor Hu is a doctoral supervisor and deputy dean of the School of Automation and Engineering of the University of Science and Technology Beijing. His research fields cover precision mechanics and electrical control systems. He has a Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science of Nagoya University and a post-doctorate from the Department of Computer Science of the University of Newfoundland. He visited the Department of Mathematics of the University of Manchester from November 1998 to August 1999, and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of York University, Canada from September 2000 to August 2001. He has published 37 papers in international journals.

Positions held:

Associate editor of the international SCI journal “Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics”;

The reviewer for around 23 international academic journals, including IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, Automatica and International Journal of Control.

He lectures on the following courses: The Principles of Automatic Control, Sensors and Testing Technology, Modern Control Theory, Optimum Control, Linear Systems, Non-linear Control, Matrix Theory, and Modern Algebra.
