Wang Yidan, lecturer, is a full-time tutor at the Department of Computer Science and Technology, School of Science and Engineering, at the Open University of China. She holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Birmingham, UK, and a Ph.D. in the same field from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia. Prior to her academic career, she worked as a software engineer, enterprise risk management consultant, and IT project manager at prestigious companies such as Deloitte Consulting and Daimler Greater China Investment Co., Ltd.

Her primary research interests lie in distributed systems and cloud computing, as well as high-performance streaming big data processing. During her doctoral studies, she was involved in research projects funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC) and led by the Centre for Distributed and High-Performance Computing at the University of Sydney's School of Computer Science. Her research findings have been presented at international conferences such as HPCC and ICPP.
