Jia Ying, chief editor and lecturer for the Civil Engineering Mechanics (undergraduate) course. She is a doctor of engineering and a professor of the School of Civil Engineering of Beijing Jiaotong University. Her research fields include the analysis and control of structural vibration, and research on the change of the wind field surrounding structures. She has been in charge of or participated in many research projects for the Natural Science Foundation of China, including “A New Design for High-rise Buildings and Structures Using LTD to Reduce Vibration”, “Research on Wind-induced Vibration Control for High-rise Buildings”, “A Study of the Interaction and Failure Mechanism between Super-tall Buildings under Strong Shock and Periodicity Basis”, “The Application of CDF Numerical Simulation Technique in Defining the Wind Load Characteristics of Long Span Roof” and “Research on the Change of the Wind Field Surrounding Structures”.
