The programme is oriented towards the manufacturing production front-line. It cultivates skilled technical professionals who have grasped the basic professional and theoretical knowledge, application technology, and operation skills of numerical control technology, who can engage in the processing, installation, adjusting, examination, maintenance, and modification of numerical control equipment in grass-roots level positions, and who are capable of marketing numerical control equipment.

I. Training Objectives and Standards

Two-year junior college programme for part-time students to complete within three years. Minimum length of study should be no less than two and half years.

Knowledge and competency requirements:

(1) Strong learning, comprehension, and computing abilities and sense of space.
(2) Capacity to complete the numerical control machining of moderately complex parts.
(3) Ability to work out numerical control machining technology with moderate complexity.
(4) Ability to use relevant tools, tooling, and instruments.
(5) Ability to install, adjust, and maintain numerical control machine tools.
(6) Complete the management and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.
(7) Ability to install and adjust electrical control systems, production technology, and management systems.
(8) Ability to participate in the management and marketing of numerical control equipment.

III. Graduation

The minimum number of credits required to graduate from this major is 78. Graduates who obtain the required number of credits and meet the moral education requirements will be awarded with a nationally-recognised junior college graduation certificate of higher education.
