I. Training Objectives and Standards

Undergraduate programme for junior-college graduates with a minimum length of study of two and a half years, and student status retained for 8 years.

This major seeks to foster virtue and socialist ideals, professional ethics, and scientific and engineering literacy, focusing on the development of national robotics technology to meet the needs of social and industrial development. Graduates will be professionals skilled in the basics of robotic-control technologies, operating systems, programming, and simulations, have strong engineering capability and an innovative mindset, and be capable of entering careers related to the development, integration, debugging, maintenance, and engineering uses of robotics.

In terms of political, ideological, and ethical requirements, students should gain a sense of patriotism and social responsibility, and the importance of being honest, trustworthy, devoted to work, and law-abiding. They should also become safety conscious and gain a strong team spirit.

In terms of professional knowledge and competence, students should:

  1. Master the performance and technical specifications of common robotics;
  2. Master the basics of robotics in terms of principles, operations, programming and debugging;
  3. Become familiar with robot operating systems, programming, and simulations;
  4. Master the basic methods of robotic-systems integration and peripheral-equipment installation and debugging;
  5. Gain a comprehensive engineering and technical foundation in electromechanics, automatic control, and computers.

II. Core Courses

C++ Language Programming, Basics of Electromechanical-control Engineering, Sensor and Testing Technologies, Introduction to Robotics Engineering, Robotic Kinematics and Control, Basics of Computer-simulation Technology, Robotics Systems Integration, and others.

III. Graduation

The minimum number of credits required to graduate is 72, and students who have completed all the required courses and obtained the required number of credits, and met the moral-education requirements, within 8 years of enrollment, will be awarded a nationally-recognised undergraduate certificate, while those meeting the degree requirements will receive a Bachelor of Engineering degree.
