The programme aims to foster advanced, application-oriented professional technical and managerial personnel with good engineering skills, job strengths, basic qualities, and practical working abilities. The graduates should be able to engage in tasks such as feasibility analysis, investment estimation, construction cost determination, and the management and control of engineering construction projects.

I. Training Objectives and Standards

Two-year junior college programme for part-time students to complete within three years. Minimum length of study should be no less than two and half years.

The programme aims to foster advanced, application-oriented professional technical and managerial personnel with good engineering skills, job strengths, basic qualities, and practical working abilities. The graduates should be able to engage in tasks such as feasibility analysis, investment estimation, construction cost determination, and the management and control of engineering construction projects.

After graduation, students mainly engage in work related to engineering costing, construction management, construction administration, and construction cost consulting at construction and engineering companies and real estate enterprises or other related departments in the construction industry.

Graduates should acquire the following knowledge and abilities after completion of their studies:

1. Basic cultural knowledge of humanities and social sciences;
2. Basic theoretical knowledge of mathematics and computer applications;
3. Knowledge of how to correctly read professional construction drawings and participating in drawing auditing;
4. Professional knowledge of building materials, architectural structures, and construction equipment;
5. Ability to conduct feasibility analysis and investment estimation for engineering construction projects;
6. Ability to prepare bidding documents and participate in bidding activities;
7. Project management and construction site organisation and management abilities;
8. Project contract management and project claim abilities;
9. Ability to prepare and audit project cost documents and control costs;
10. Ability to determine, manage and control project costs with the help of a computer;
11. Certain oral and written expression abilities.

Architectural Drawing Basics, Architectural Materials (A), Architectural Structures, Architectural Construction Technology, Architectural Engineering Project Management, Engineering Economics, Engineering Cost Foundations, Architectural Engineering Valuation, Installation Project Valuation, and Bidding and Contract Management of Architectural Engineering Project.

III. Graduation

The minimum number of credits required to graduate from this major is 78. Graduates who obtain the required number of credits and meet the moral education requirements will be awarded with a nationally-recognised junior college graduation certificate of higher education.
