To promote the high-quality development of discipline construction and to upgrade the quality of teaching, training, and research, the Sub-committee of Literature, History, Philosophy and the Arts of the Open University of China (OUC) held its second plenary meeting and academic workshop on 8 November 2022 online and offline.

In order to promote teaching reforms, the goal of fostering virtue through education, and teaching skills in both curriculum-based ideological and political education and art education, the Open University of China (OUC) has organised a variety of activities.

On the morning of 2 Nov. 2022, the Open University of China (OUC) held a seminar related to its “Lectures by Famous Teachers from 100 Universities”. The event was held at the Wukesong campus, and attended both online and offline.

A national platform, “Smart Education of China”, recently launched a webpage aiming to study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and display the educational achievements over the past decade in China.

On 31 October 2022, the Open University of China (OUC) invited Professor Liang Wannian, head of the Expert Group of the Epidemic Response and Disposal Leading Group of the National Health Commission (NHC), and dean of the Institute for Healthy China, Tsinghua University, to teach in the “Healthy China: Lectures by Famous Teachers” programme.

On 11 October 2022, the Open University of China (OUC) held a seminar on learning support for the degree-conferral English programme, part of professional development in the OUC system. The event aimed to upgrade the teaching abilities of its teachers and to provide all-round learning-support services, supporting the development of the English programme. Fan Xianrui, OUC vice president, and Zhao Liling, president of the Xian branch, attended.

On 28 September 2022, the School of Public Administration of the Faculty of Political Science and Law of the Open University of China (OUC) held an academic workshop with the theme “The logicality and reality of the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind: The Chinese action plan.”

On 29 September 2022, the Open University of China (OUC) held a seminar on the construction of learning regions via online and offline means. This seminar was jointly organised by the Lifelong Education Research Institute, the Academic Affairs Department, the MOE Research and Training Centre for Vocational Education, and the Department of Reform and Development.
