1．Training objectives and standards
This programme is designed to prepare students to work at the forefront of production, technology, services and management in China's information industry. Students will be equipped with a strong spirit of innovation and the ability to master the necessary knowledge of computers and network applications. They will have basic computer and internet operation skills, and the ability to engage in computer web page design and related areas. Graduates should be patriotic, have good morals, and a healthy attitude towards labour.
Based on the need of enterprises and defined by adaptability to different posts, graduates are required to have the following qualities and skills, covering strong practical skills and theoretical knowledge:
(1) Basic quality:
High political, ideological, legal and moral quality;
Good scientific and cultural knowledge;
Strong expression and communication ability;
A spirit of enthusiasm and cooperation;
Good professional ethics.
(2) Technical application skills
Computer operation skills;
Strong office software skills;
Computer assembly and maintenance skills
Web page design and production;
An understanding of computer data security and risk prevention;
Skills applicable to career opportunities in similar fields, as well as adaptability to occupational changes in terms of starting their own business.
This programme has three orientations: web design, network management and online editor.
3. Core courses
Compulsory subjects for the web design orientation include: Introduction to Computer Applications, Computer Systems and Maintenance, Introduction to Website Art Design, Computer Networks, Image Processing with Photoshop, Web Page Design with Dreamweaver, Flash Animation.
Compulsory subjects for the network management orientation include: Introduction to Computer Applications, Computer Systems and Maintenance, Introduction to Website Art Design, Computer Networks, Windows Network Operating System Management, Network Application Service Management, Network System Management and Maintenance.
Compulsory subjects for the network editor orientation include: Introduction to Computer Applications, Computer Systems and Maintenance, Introduction to Website Art Design, Computer Networks, Network Multi-media Material Processing, Network Information Collection, Network Information Editing.
Compulsory subjects are all offered by the Open University of China (OUC), with the same syllabus (or teaching requirements), teaching materials, examinations and evaluation standards.
The minimum number of credits required for graduation is 76. Graduates obtaining the required number of credits are awarded a nationally-recognized diploma of higher education.
