The programme aims to foster the all-round ethical, physical and intellectual development of students. Graduates should be advanced engineering professionals equipped with the ability to conduct engineering design, construction and management, and the preliminary ability to carry out applied research and development.     

I.Training Objectives and Standards

Two-year undergraduate programme (start from junior college level) for part-time students to complete the programme within three years. Minimum length of study should be no less than two and half years.

The programme aims to foster the all-round ethical, physical and intellectual development of students. Graduates should be advanced engineering professionals equipped with the ability to conduct engineering design, construction and management, and the preliminary ability to carry out applied research and development.     

Students should have a strong sense of patriotism and a desire to strive to serve the people. They should be law-abiding and have strong social morals and professional ethics.

Professional Requirements:

(1) A solid grasp of the basic theory, knowledge and skills of this profession;
(2) Skills in normal civil engineering structures design, comprehensive construction management, and experimentation and research;
(3) Acquisition of primary scientific research and technology development training;
(4) Be good at self-directed learning and be able to obtain up-to-date knowledge in the field of civil engineering;
(5) The ability to speak a foreign language to a certain level and have the ability to read foreign language materials for the course;
(6) Basic computer application skills.

Engineering Mathematics (undergraduate), Civil Engineering Mechanics (undergraduate), Principles of Concrete Structure Design, Engineering Geology, Engineering Economics and Management, Civil Engineering CAD, Architectural Structure Experimentation, Design of Concrete Structures of Housing Construction, Steel Structures (undergraduate), Construction Supervision, High-rise Building Construction, Road Engineering, Bridge Engineering (undergraduate)etc.

III.Graduation

The minimum number of credits required to graduate from this major is 71. Graduates who obtain the required number of credits and meet moral education requirements will be awarded with a nationally-recognised undergraduate graduation certificate of higher education. Those qualified for degree requirements will be conferred with the bachelor degree of engineering.
