The junior college programme in advertising was first started in 1999. After the integrated diploma-to-degree reform in 2006, the original junior college programme in law was divided into two orientations: advertising (for marketing communications) and advertising (for designing and production). By the end of 2013, 13,567 students had graduated in advertising and 12,825 were still in school. Since the initiation of the junior college programme in law, close cooperation has been conducted with institutions of higher education including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Nanjing University, the Communication University of China, Beijing Technology and Business University, and the North China University of Technology, as well as the institutions of the China Advertising Association and Meikao (China).
