Liao Xiaojun is secretary general of the fruit and vegetable processing branch of the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology; vice chairman of the Youth Work Committee of the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology; vice secretary general of the agricultural products’ storage and processing branch of the China Agricultural Society; and director of Beijing Food Association.
His main interests are the processing technology of fruits and vegetables, the technology and theory of high efficiency extraction and separation for the functional components of plant resources, research on non-thermal food technology, and intervention techniques and food safety theory in the progress of processing.
He was name one of the Ministry of Education’s New Century Outstanding Individuals, and has won the Youth Science and Technology Prize of the ninth China Agricultural Society. He also won second and third prizes in provincial and ministerial-level Science and Technology Progress Awards.
