Hu Ruoyu is an associate professor of the School of Education, The Open University of China. She graduated from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Sichuan University in 1982. She is now the course tutor of Teaching and Research on Primary School Chinese, Aesthetics and Aesthetic Education, and Teaching and Research on Middle School Chinese. The courses she has led include Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature, Writing, Primary School Chinese Education, Aesthetics and Aesthetic Education, Teaching and Research on Middle School Chinese, and more. The following are her major research achievements: She has published the papers On the Relationship between Chinese Education and Aesthetic Education, the Inner Form of Learning Support, and Elements and Principles for the Designing of Online Courses Based on Teaching Equality; she participated in the compilation of the works Dictionary of Aesthetics and Studies on Teaching Language of Middle School Teachers; she has participated in the compilation of the teaching materials Reading and Writing, Aesthetics and Aesthetic Education, Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature, and A Handbook of Pre-Graduation Intensive Practice for Programmes of Primary School Education (Junior College Programme). Her course Teaching and Research on Primary School Chinese was awarded one of 2007's "Excellent Courses for the National Online Education"; A course team under her leadership was responsible for Aesthetics and Aesthetic Education which received an award in 2011 as one of CCRTVU's "Excellent Courses"; the printed teaching material in which she was a contributor was selected as one of the 2006 Excellent Teaching Materials of Beijing Higher Education.
