Zhang Maolin, associate professor, is a lead teacher of the OUC module Operating Systems.

Zhang graduated from the Department of Automatic Control of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (now Beihang University) in 1992 and completed his postgraduate education in the Computer Department of the same university in 1992. He is associate professor at the Computer School of Beihang University.

Zhang has been engaged for years in the research of software engineering and software testing technology and tools. He has successively participated in the key scientific and technological project of "software engineering" for the 7th Five-Year Plan of the Ministry of Aviation; the study of "CADCSC computer aided design of control system of China", which is a major project included in the national natural science foundation; the project "Integrated software engineering environment—Silver Eagle Software" included in the key projects of China Aviation Industry Corps for the 8th Five-Year Plan.

Dissertation works compiled by associate professor Zhang include Practical Study Course of Operating Systems published by Tsinghua University Press in 2004; Information System Testing published by the CCRTVU Press in 2005; "Re-use of structural members during the process of software development"; "Quality control during the course of software product development"; "Teamwork collaboration model of software integration testing and its characteristics"; "Research of workflow application in MIS system"; "Target-oriented software testing procedure" and Collection of Essays at Academic Conferences of the National Software and Application in 2005. He has also been a chief lecturer for the subjects UNIX Programming Environment, Introduction to Computer Science, Operating System and C Language Programming.
